seems to me like you're skipping lines whilst readin posts, my chavvy friend. and no, I am not jealous at all. esle I would't care to elaborate my thoughts on GW economics. but suit yourself. we'll see who's laughing when your 160 ectos turn into 1600 gold.

If you're sitting with 1000k in your stash, I'd say you're fairly set for Chapter 2. Mainly because there are so few items currently in the game that warrant spending such a large amount on. Once you get your Superior Vigor (and absorption if you're a warrior) you don't need anything else. The only thing you would want to buy outside of it would be those very few unconditional weapons that dropped for... I'm not even sure how long players could get them for. Otherwise, you're just looking for the weapon with the rarest skin and best stats out there.

And if Chapter 2 is not supposed to put any Chapter 1 players at a disadvantage, I can wager a guess in that all that money in your stash will be doing is buying the next pretty thing Anet comes out with next.

I dont see ecto ever being that low. Low prices will only lead to mass purchases of it which will bring it up again. I think the lowest it will go is 7k but even that would be disasterous to the economy.

i fully intend on stocking up on 750 of every single material type including ecto, shards and whatnot, to prepare for ch 2...
and i know ecto will drop, but i dont think they will floor like they did in the price-reset...as they will still be a reasonably hard material to get...
i think that moreso than current prices dropping, the starting off value of materials needed for new armors will skyrocket, as the demand for them will be incredible, btu the supply minimal.
so while ecto will fall, almsot guerenteed, i do not think it will hit rock bottom.
thats my opinion, and im psending millions prepping accordingly.

what i suggest is this...
do not forsake all ecto stroes, have some of them, but do not invest all your money in them, look for currently useless, obscure materials, and hoard them.
if you can afford to do so, hoard a lot of everything, but most people cant do that...
like i said, initially EVERYTHING will fall in price as people sell off bucketloads of stuff to be able to be one of the first people with new armors, and THAT is what will drive the prices down. like with all things, the feeding frenzy is always strongest in the begining.
i fully expect ecto to hit about 5-7k in the begining...and no that wont have disastrous effects on the economy...
at the "height" of the gw economy, when UW farming had not yet been nerfed and gold items were worth twice that they are now, ecto were valued at 7-8k each. but once the craze for the new armors calms down, ecto should rise again as fissure and the new armor types become "side by side" options for ascetic appeal and as status symbols, and given time, whichever requires rarer materials will most likely end up being the more expensive.

I've been saving crafting materials for some time now. I fully expect the prices to jump once Chapter 2 is released.

Currently have 1500 wood, iron, cloth, 1000 tanned hides, and 250 to 500 of leather, fur, steel, linen, silk, and 100+ of a number of other items. I expect to have 2+ stacks of ecto and shards as well. Hoping to get that in gems, but they're hard to get and the prices are higher than I care to pay right now.

I dumped a lot of ecto this week.. but i'm overrun with money.. and items. Completely out of storage space.. wtf do I do? I could spend, but i don't have room to buy anything.. and well.. yeah.. :P I only keep enough space so one character can play :O I only have one id/salvage kit because the space is just that limited.. maybe I'm a packrat?? Maybe I need to update my auctions? Who knows.

I could get fow armor for another character, but I don't personally like ele or warrior.. and I'd rather get NEW armor for my necro.. w/ expansion of course. Oi. Chap 2 could not come fast enough, I get back into farming without clearing my inventory at all! ^_^;;

Serious space management problems. I've been aching for a second account for months, but I've been trying to hold off..

I'm really hoping Anet does something about the horrid storage and inventory situation. Unless you have a second computer to run GW on transfering items between your own accounts is laborious at best.

I'd really like to be able to access a list of what each character has on them without having to login to each one and write it down.

Who says rubies/shards are gonna go lower or higher i think they will stay the same price or just drop a little, fow armor will still be the high end type armor that only the rich have

But who am I kidding I only got a couple ecto in the bank and about 50 plat. It is a shame I feel broke now after upgrading my weapons across the board.

guy in my guild has a gold dwarven axe from HoH chest. Its probably the rarest weapon in the game, it isnt even on guild wiki

Well I am not rich.. but I do got 4 15k armor on my Necro (and 2 x 1.5k armors), All the Green necro staffs... and my Warrior has 1 set of 15k armor..

And not to mention the Sup runes for my invinci monk before their prices dropped majorly..

I tend to spent my money a lot on things.. otherwise I would have been rich.. well rich for my standards.. lol

I got 200k plus some un-id gold weaopns. I was going to buy a 15k female Geo armor but I'm going to wait for Ch. 2 and see if I need the money or not.
